Beauty and the Beast

HITS’ latest show was a real return to a true Community Theatre style and what better way than to do a show for kids... We had lots of new members, and some old faithfuls too, with Amy Cherry directing after her successful children's show "Wizard of Oz" in 2008.

The January 2010 production of Beauty and the Beast was based on the 1991 animated feature film by Walt Disney Productions. The show centres around a beast who is really a prince who had a spell cast on him and who keeps a beautiful young woman named Belle in a castle. The beast must win Belle's love or he will remain a beast forever. Through beautiful music, choreography and entertaining characters, the story told of how Belle learns to love the Beast, while teaching him how to love in return. It was a show designed to entertain children and adults alike.

Receiving rave reviews and fab audience reactions, Beauty & the Beast played to over 1600 people making it HITS biggest show to date. Press coverage was huge and Hanoi was filled with a resounding plea for more theatre from HITS.... what is next? who knows? we're in pre-production talks and plotting. Keep your eyes out for announcements very very soon!
